Pingyao International Photography Festival
Photography at RMIT has been represented at the Pingyao International Photography Festival in two exhibitions: Rebuilding, a student exhibition curated by Alan Hill, featured the work of nine RMIT BA (Photography) students and Remembering What Never Happened, a solo show by School of Art lecturer Bronek Kozka.
The Pingyao International Photography Festival (PIP) is staged across a number of disused factories and religious temples for one intensive week of exhibitions. There is also a smaller but significant international contemporary art section, which this year included work from Brazil, Denmark, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Taiwan, USA and, of course, Australia. In addition to the exhibitions, Bronek also presented the BA (Photography) “Studio” model, concentrating on its key attributes, flexibility and responsiveness, at the Photography Education Symposium in Pingyao.
