SPEAKER | Phuong Ngo

Phuong Ngo is a contemporary visual artist; his practice is concerned with the interpretation of history, memory and place, and how it impacts individual and collected identity. His collaborative practice with Hwafern Quach, Slippage, examines the cycles of history in conjunction with current geopolitical and economic issues through the lens of vernacular cultures, artefacts and language.

SPEAKER creates a space to come together to listen to, think about and discuss ideas. It is a series of talks by contemporary artists and curators, and it offers a chance to engage with a range of art practices and cultural issues—from the emerging to the established—the local to the international. SPEAKER is presented by RMIT School of Art, History and Theory and Cultures and INTERSECT.
