Ways of Shifting: Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in the Arts
This workshop invites RMIT SoA post graduate students and academics to reflect on cultural and linguistic diversity in arts leadership.
Drawn from the recent Diversity Arts report 'Shifting the Balance' which highlights the lack of CALD representation in the leadership of arts organisations in Australia. There will be short presentations from students followed by a creative workshop, which will allow participants to reflect on their views, consider existing barriers and challenges and potential solutions and opportunities in improving diversity in representation in the arts sector.
Speakers:
Samira Farrah & Soyoun Kim — SoA Masters of Arts (Arts Management) students
Varuni Kanagasundaram — SoA PhD Candidate
Hootan Heydari — SoA BFA Honours Candidate
Dr Tuba Boz — Research Fellow, Social and Global Studies
Presented in partnership with Multicultural Arts Victoria as part of the CAST OUT LOUD program.
