Dr Rhett D'Costa — Honorary University Fellow
Dr Rhett D'Costa has over 25 years of experience in art education at a tertiary level in a range of teaching and learning, management and leadership positions in Australia and Asia, including five years as Head, School of Fine Arts, LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore. He has held significant leadership positions within the School of Art at RMIT since 1999, including many years teaching within the Painting studio, and six years as Program Manager for the Hong Kong MFA (Coursework) and BA (Fine Art) programs.
His 30-year research career extends across painting and installation processes examines issues of belong, migration, identity and cultural diversity. He has been an active contributor to the school’s research focus and has held over 20 individual exhibitions, his work has been selected for many curated group exhibitions and he has published papers and presented at national and international conferences.
He has actively engaged with a range of sectors in the arts industry, nationally and internationally, which has enabled him to create opportunities for students and staff in terms of pedagogy and research over many years.
