A recent issue of Garland magazine focuses on the "craft of love", with a special interest in southern India.

It features ’The nine-yard sari: Bolts of love in clay’ by Varuni Kanagasundaram and ’Anbin nimiththam: For the sake of love’ by RMIT lecturer Manasee Jog.

We just managed to sneak in a CAST symposium before the lockdown, which featured Rhett d'Costa.

Since then, we've had a video discussion with Indian contributors Love across the Indian Ocean and are planning events with speakers from Iran and Vietnam during the lockdown.

As part of the Spring Will Come campaign, we are sharing ideas about how object-making may flourish in the new world that will re-emerge. Production is underway for the Africa issue in June and the Indonesia issue in September, when we will hopefully celebrate emergence from the lockdown with a symposium on material thinking.

Interest in contributions from school staff and students is welcome.
