School of Art Alumni Event with a special viewing of the RMIT collection

On Thursday 24 May, the School of Art Alumni Event included a special viewing of the Chaos and Order exhibition at RMIT Gallery. The exhibition, celebrating 120 years of art, featured over 80 works from RMIT Alumni and staff who are among the most highly regarded artists our country has produced. This was the first time these works from the collection had been exhibited together.

Curator, Jon Buckingham, was in attendance to discuss the works and the artists who created them. RMIT alumnus and artist Penny Byrne, featured in the exhibition, spoke about how her background in ceramics conservation and law informs her practice of politically charged, highly engaging and often disarmingly humorous sculptural works.
