Sites of Uncertainty: Reframing Australian Architectural Photography is a practice-led research project revealing underlying traits of Australian culture through photographic exploration and examination of architecture and the built environment.

The project examines the histories of Australian architectural photography and its correlation to legacies of colonialism and modernism. It visualises the impacts of globalisation, political decision-making, the phenomenology of urbanism and place, and the growing awareness and significance of Australian indigenous histories and their contemporary significance. The photographs reveal critical sites of tensions and commodification through the dynamics of urban fringe developments, established suburbs and city centres, and the rise of private over public space and community as a capital resource.

For non RMIT staff and students, please register for this event through Eventbrite.
