Recent Work — Helen Britton
This talk at Kaleide Theatre coincides with Helen’s new exhibition Koala Hotel at Gallery Funaki. The exhibition runs until 10 March.

Helen Britton is a multidisciplinary Australian artist based in Munich, Germany. Her practice includes jewellery, sculpture, drawings, stencils and installations, and is informed by popular culture and folk art, disappearing traditions with a strong underlying influence of her Australian environment.
In 2021 Elena Alvarez-Lutz released her documentary film Hunter from Elsewhere, A Journey with Helen Britton at Dok.Fest Munich, documenting Helen Britton’s research interests and collaborations.
She has actively built innovative collaborations at an institutional and global level connecting people, concepts and technologies. As an appointed Adjunct Professor of RMIT School of Art in 2019, Helen has actively participated in the School of Art through representation at the All the Jewellery Workshop, International jewellery symposium at RMIT, Craft Initiative Seminar 2, ongoing involvement in the Craft Discussion group and student consultations and postgraduate student tutorials. Helen is also a member of MatA (material assembly). In 2020 Helen was invited by the Bavarian Chamber of Crafts to curate the prestigious international contemporary jewellery exhibition Schmuck for the International handwerksmesse.
