First Site Gallery proposals for Semester One 2020 are due by 5pm Monday 23 September. All RMIT students can apply, there is funding for select projects, and it is free to exhibit.

Our student gallery is home to a plethora of progressive mediums and concepts, and we look forward to preparing our program for next semester.

What kind of projects can you propose?
Solo, collaborative, group or curated exhibition
Series of performances
Theatre piece
Conference/symposium
Mini festival
Tell us your ideas!

We are offering funding for the select projects that align with First Site values:
Project by First Nations student/s
Collaborative project (between different academic schools is desirable but not essential)
Unconventional project, e.g. theatre performance, interactive games, concert, participatory art
Project that addresses social, cultural and/or environmental issues
Project that aims to be accessible and inclusive for audiences with disabilities

We welcome applications from people from culturally diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTQIA+ practitioners and people with lived experience of disability.

First Site exhibitors gain professional experience in a supportive environment, and join our amazing community of creatives!

First Site is partially wheelchair accessible via an elevator. Please come to the entrance on Swanston Street where an invigilator will be stationed, they will provide lift access.
