Dr Laresa Kosloff — Honours Program Manager (Art and Photography) in 2024

RMIT School of Art is pleased to announce that Dr Laresa Kosloff will commence her role as the Honours Program Manager (Art and Photography) in 2024. Laresa makes performative videos, short films, audio works and participatory artworks. She has worked in the School of Art for the past 21 years, teaching painting, drawing, video, lens-based practice, critical writing and supervising Higher Degree Research students.

Laresa is passionate about art education and says, “It is a tremendous honour to take over the Honours Program Manager role at RMIT for Art and Photography. I completed my degree at RMIT two decades ago, and studying Honours was pivotal in becoming a critically engaged practitioner. We live in interesting times; on the one hand, an increasingly volatile world reflecting late-stage capitalism and the devastating impacts of white supremacy and colonisation. On the other, a profound questioning of these systems and resistance towards the status quo. I look forward to developing a special community within the Honours Program and supporting the students in their creative endeavours.”

Laresa is represented by Sutton Gallery, located on unceded Wurundjeri country in Naarm, Melbourne.
