Dr Drew Pettifer’s forthcoming project,  A Sorrowful Act: The Wreck of the Zeewijk, was recently featured in  Artist Profilemagazine.

The exhibition is scheduled to open at Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery at University of Western Australia (UWA) on 28 August. The work will be accompanied by a publication launching in November featuring essays by Professor Ted Snell AM, UWA; The Hon Michael Kirby, former Justice of the High Court; Dr Shelley McSpedden, Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI); Professor Dennis Altman AO, La Trobe University; Corioli Souter, Curator, Shipwrecks Museum, Western Australia; Diederick Wildeman, Curator, Dutch National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam; and Dr Amelia Barikin, University of Queensland.

In May 2020 Drew received a grant from The Kingdom of the Netherlands Shared Cultural Heritage Fund to fund the publication accompanying this project.

He also received a City of Melbourne Quick Response Arts Grant in April 2020 to produce a dedicated website for the project.
