Eamon Sprod

MFA (Research) candidate Eamon Sprod’s sound project TARAB has recently had new works published:

APOPHENIA
Released on his own micro-label SONICRUBBISH

In making APOPHENIA I borrowed sounds made by people and some by things; some sounds I initiated myself. All sounds collected 2012–19. Arranged and de-arranged 2016–19. Elements of this piece first appeared on the Aposiopèse compilation VIII. Sounds were then borrowed, discarded and re-arranged into a mix for the Ears Have Ears radio program (RIP). Further additions and subtractions were made, and over time it all de-arranged into the form it is in here. Thank you: air conditioning units, bicarb soda, malfunctioning white goods, alleyways, constructions sites, trains, escalators, plastic bags, hollow vessels, floor boards and empty rooms.

MATERIAL STUDIES #1
Released by Hobart based label Hemisphäreの空虚

Arranged from sounds generated and/or collected; including re-manipulations of early TARAB cassette materials from late 1990s / Melbourne / 2018–19

41 Containers was arranged specifically for NY based publishing house Erstwhile’s Amplify: Quarantine Festival.

All sounds were sourced and recorded within my home during lock-down March–April 2020.
