Picture recitation is a prosemetric form of narration using visuals and a multi-sensory experience combining image, text, voice, memory, and performance. It was historically performed in India but is now a dying art form, partly suffering neglect during colonisation. Priyanka's research looks at ways to decolonise and revive these storytelling traditions. You are cordially invited to view her PhD examination exhibition which charts her practice over the course of the pandemic in which she experimented with prose, poetry, and illustrations to create a performance of picture recitation. The artist will be present at the gallery and looks forward to conversing with you.

The exhibition will be open for viewing the following times:

Wednesday 12 July
10am–5pm
with an evening viewing time at 5pm

Thursday 13 July
10am–5pm
