LIGHTSOURCES: EXPERIENCES AFTER COVID

This RMIT School of Art exhibition in the 14 light boxes at RMIT — Rodda Lane and the stairwell in Bldg. 2 — and in Knox Place in Melbourne Central are the result of asking students from different disciplines and year levels in the school to reflect upon how they are experiencing life after COVID lockdown.

Dr Phil Edwards, School of Art Painting lecturer, is responsible for coordinating the light boxes on campus. Phil would like to acknowledge the advice from Dr Richard Harding (Printmaking), Dr Kirsten Haydon (Gold and Silversmithing), Dr Saffron Newey (Painting) and Kylie Stillman (Painting).

Dr Benjamin Sheppard, from the Drawing studio in the School of Art coordinated the five images in Knox Place and has provided a statement detailing how this part of this exhibition was realised.

Overall, a wide range of responses was forthcoming from students in Painting, Printmaking, Drawing, Gold and Silversmithing and Ceramics. Consequently, the exhibition of images is varied, exciting and challenging.
